The winner of the USA and World competitions in hurdle events, Lolo Jones has reached her current position after a lot of struggle and perseverance. Jones was the only child in a family of five as well as grew up poor. The mother of Jones moved around constantly and lived for a time in a church basement. Jones had to be moved to another school every year up until the time she graduated from high school as a result of her nomadic life. When she attended Theodore Roosevelt High School, Jones did not live with her mother so that she could explore her love of the track and field events. She had four families throughout her time at high school to study at one location. Jones is a cellist of the school's orchestra, and the winner of Gatorade state track and field player of the Year award was awarded the Gatorade Iowa Athletic Award at the time of her graduation from high school. Jones was a college student when she went to college, was one of the most skilled hurdlers. At the 2002 NCAA Track and Field Championships, she won the 100-meter hurdles. Also, she was in the team who finished second in the 100-meter Relay. In 2003 and the year 2004, Jones won the indoor hurdles race at the NCAA Championship. Jones began her track career in 2005 after completing her university studies. The same year she also won the Torino Memorial Event, while in 2026 she was the winner of the Ostrava Track event as well as Heusden.

Brandt born within Cape Town South Africa with her siblings and parents relocated into Auckland New Zealand when she was in her teens. After being discovered by local casting directors, Brandt assumed the character as Naevia for the Starz hits Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
